How about a big 'ol cowboy carnival where everyone who wants
to participate
can play a number of Cowboy games, ride a mechanical bull just
like the
characters from "Urban Cowboy", and as an incentive, get
raffle tickets for
prizes at the end of the event! The prizes do not have to
elaborate. .
..some company polo shirts, cold or hot cups, etc. and a few
nicer gifts (DVD
players, 13" TV's, etc.)
The games will consist
of the following:
*Quick
Draw-2 contestants strap on hosters and six-shooters (Blank
primers
only, of course) and are given the finer points of the art of
the Quick Draw
and the upon a signal from the judge, the 1st to draw, cock,
and fire wins
that round. Best 2 out of 3 wins and gets a raffle ticket.
We'd provide at
least 2 stations.
*Cowboy Hat Toss-
an 8'X 8' split rail arena is set up and at the back are
two large Saguaro cacti with multiple arms. The contestant is
handed three
light weight cowboy hats and tosses the hats at the cacti.
Each hat that
lands and stays on an arm wins a ticket! At least 2 stations.
*Tomahawk
Throw- a 6'X 8' arena is set up with an Old West backdrop on
to
which are fastened a number of balloons. The player is given
(and after
brief instruction) 3 actual steel Indian tomahawks to throw at
the
balloon/backboard. Each balloon popped is worth a ticket. 2
stations.
*Steer
roping- Fake steer heads are attatched to bales of hay and the
players
are taught the finer points of roping. They stand back 10'
and throw the
rope. . .each success is worth 2 tickets! 2 stations.
*Exciting
Cowboy/Country DJ to act as Master of Ceremonies, keep the
excitement going, conduct the raffle, etc. Our trick Roper,
gunner spinner,
Robert Basgall is also a pro dancer and line dance instructor!
and each
person to particpate will get tickets and DJ will give more
tickets for
outstanding achievement or at least a good try! Let's keep
everyone at the
BBQ with the promise of COOL prizes during and at the
conclusion of the
event!
*Photo
ops with dance hall girls, cowboys, etc. We'll provide the
costumes!
You provide the Photographer! Lots more great ideas!
*How
about Goat races? (Real live goats!) You'll love the
description of
this one. . .
*Our
